Our school clinics make it easier to fit care into busy family life. Your child can be seen during the school day in a familiar setting, without time off work or travel to a clinic. It’s a simple, convenient way to access the same expert care, right where your child already is.
Orthokids attend many specialist schools around Melbourne. Our orthotists run the clinic, along with school heath care staff. That way we get the benefit of seeing kids in their regular environment while also discussing observations with those that understand your child and their challenges.
We can do all kinds of things at school. Whether your child needs an assessment, casting, fitting, adjustment or review, an appointment at school can make it happen.
Parents are welcome to attend school clinics. Whether parents are at school or not, you can expect the same level of care and expertise. We’ll also communicate what occurred and any outcomes and next steps

Every child brings their own needs and lived experiences. At Orthokids, we work with families from diverse cultural and language backgrounds and are experienced in supporting children through the process of funding or clinical support.
If you require an interpreter, we kindly ask that families arrange this prior to their appointment. We are happy to collaborate with your nominated interpreter or support coordinator to help ensure your child can access the orthoses, care, and follow-up support they need.
With over twenty five years of experience we’ve been asked some great questions. Here are a few of the most common ones.
Referrals aren’t necessary for a number of appointments. If you’d like your child assessed for head shape, toe walking or mobility, you can simply book an appointment online or by phone on 03 9836 4480.
Some conditions do need a referral however. For conditions such as hip dysplasia, scoliosis or pectus, or for management of fractures or acute injury, you’ll need a referral from your GP or other medical specialist.
If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us and we can help out.
Yes we do! We’re able to assist with a number of funding options and can help with funding applications and support documentation.
If your child isn’t eligible for NDIS funding, there are other options that might be available to you.
Feel free to contact us to discuss your needs.
Making an appointment is easy. You can book online for many different types of appointments. Otherwise, feel free to contact us if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
